Former US President Donald Trump accused incumbent Joe Biden in the first TV debate of siding with the Palestinians in the war between Israel and the Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip. “He has become like a Palestinian – but they don’t like him because he is a very bad Palestinian, a weak one,” Trump said at the debate broadcast by US broadcaster CNN on Friday night. Biden is refusing to help Israel finish the job, Trump continued.
The US is Israel’s biggest supporter in the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. However, Biden has become increasingly critical of Israel’s conduct of the war in recent months.
