PALM BEACH —The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, asked the Democratic Administration of Joe Biden to stop selling parts of the wall built on the border with Mexico during his first term and promises to continue with the construction when he takes office in January.
“We are going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars more to build the same wall we already have,” he criticized in a press conference reported by the conservative television channel Fox News in which he promised to “restore” the borders of the United States.
The magnate explained that during his first term they spent “an enormous amount of money on the construction of the wall,” since the material was “very powerful.” “It is very expensive and now costs approximately double what it did six years ago,” he said.
Trump also indicated that he recently spoke with the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. “We have told them that it is not fair or correct. They cannot allow these people to enter our country,” he said.
The president-elect chose the former acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE), Tom Homan, as head of immigration policy amid the magnate’s promises to carry out mass deportations once he settles in the White House.
