Trump arranges the foundation of National Guard unit for public security in DC

US President Donald Trump tries control over the capital Washington DC through the national guard. In a decree, Trump ordered the foundation of a “specialized unit of the National Guard of DC”, which was trained in “ensuring public security and order”.

National guards in other states should also receive such training, the decree continues. They should be able to be used nationwide for possible “unrest”.

With a view to the capital Washington, Trump also ordered other prosecutors and other officials to hire the police responsible for parks. In addition, the possibilities should be restricted that arrested people are released.

Trump had ordered national guards to the Democrat stronghold of Washington DC (District of Columbia) on August 11th and justified this with supposedly sprawling violent crime. In the meantime, more than 2,200 national guards are active in the capital, they come from Washington, but also from several conservatively governed states. The national guards have been used since Sunday.

Trump has also threatened a procedure for other cities ruled by the Democrats such as Chicago, New York and Baltimore, such as in Washington. Critics accuse Trump of exaggerating the extent of crime with right -wing stake in a increasingly authoritarian approach.
