Trump: Armenian-Aserbaijanic "Peace summit" On Friday in the White House

According to his own statements, US President Donald Trump welcomes the State Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijans on Friday to meet a meeting that he referred to as a “historic peace summit”. The Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Paschinjan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Alijew would “come to him for an official peace ceremony”, Trump wrote on Thursday (local time) in his online service “Truth Social”. Eriwan confirmed a planned meeting.

Friday will be “a historical day for Armenia, Azerbaijan, the USA and the world”, Trump continued. The three -sided document is to be signed at 4.15 p.m. (local time, 10:15 p.m. CEST). At the request of the AFP news agency, the White House initially did not comment on the plans.

A merging of the two arch enemies, which may close a peace agreement, would be another mediation of the US president. Trump is convinced that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his mediation efforts in various international conflicts.

“These two nations have been against each other for many years that cost thousands of lives,” said Trump. “Many heads of state and government have tried to end the war, but so far without success- so far, thanks to Trump,” he added. The US government is “in contact with both sides for some time”.

Trump also explained that Washington would sign several bilateral agreements with both sides “so that we can fully exploit the potential of the South Caucasus region”.

The CBS station reported that the Agreement granted the United States the right to create a corridor of 43 kilometers in the Armenian area, which “Trump Straße is to be called for international peace and prosperity” (“Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity”, in short: Tripp).

Eriwan confirmed that the Armenian head of government would come together for talks with the US President “to strengthen the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States”. In addition, a “three -way meeting” with Trump and the Azerbaijani president will take place “to contribute to peace, prosperity and economic cooperation in the region,” it said.

A meeting between Paschinjan and Alijew on July 10th in Abu Dhabi had not made any tangible progress regarding the conclusion of a peace agreement, which the two states had agreed in March.

Armenia and Azerbaijan had waged two wars against each other over the control of the Bergkarabach region in the past decades. In 2023, Azerbaijan brought the region under his control in a large -scale military offensive. The military operation triggered the escape of the more than 100,000 people to Armenia.
