WASHINGTON —President Donald trump accused former President Barack this Thursday Obama to reveal information classified, after he said that the aliens “they’re real” in a recent podcast interview.
“He gave classified information; he (Obama) is not supposed to do that,” Trump said when asked by reporters on his presidential plane about Obama’s recent statements that revived conspiracy theories on the subject.
In an interview on journalist Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast, Obama accepted a round of rapid-fire questions, in which he was asked if aliens are real, to which the Democrat nodded, with a brief comment: “They are real, but I haven’t seen them.”
“And they are not being hidden in… What is it called? Area 51. There are no underground facilities, unless there is a huge conspiracy and they hide it from the president of the United States,” added the former president (2009-2017).
His comments were wildfire on social networks. The former Democratic president posted a message on his Instagram account on Sunday night to clarify his position and justified his arguments by claiming that he had made those comments solely to “maintain the light tone of the podcast.”
“Statistically, the universe is so vast that it is very likely that there is life out there,” he wrote on Instagram.
“But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances of aliens visiting us are low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that aliens have made contact with us. Really!” Obama added.
serious mistake
Without giving details, Trump assured that Obama “gave classified information. He made a serious mistake.”
The current American president stressed that he does not know if aliens are real or not. Asked about his own beliefs about aliens, Trump said: “I don’t know if they’re real or not.”
The statements come after Obama clarified on Instagram that he saw “no evidence” that “aliens have made contact with us” during his presidency, but he made an assumption “because the universe is so vast, it is likely that there is life out there,” in his opinion.
In 2013, the CIA declassified documents that would confirm the existence of the ‘Area 51’ military base, created by order of US President Dwight Eisenhower in the mid-1950s for testing the U-2 spy plane, capable of flying at high altitudes and covering very long distances.
