"Time" Musk and Trump: Does a magazine cover rang the end of your partnership?

It leaves little scope for interpretation: the cover of the new “Time” edition shows Elon Musk-behind the famous Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Musk is the real president of the United States, according to the unmistakable message. When asked about this, President Donald Trump tries to pull himself out of the affair with a swipe. The cover could now overflow the barrel.

Trump was calmly emphasized. During a joint press conference with the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, a reporter asked the president whether the allusion annoyed him. “No,” replied Trump immediately. After the translator had transferred the question into Japanese, the Trump, who was happily looking as happily, followed up again during the waiting: “I didn’t even know that there was still it,” he stuck against the magazine.

However, this is unlikely: Trump was very happy about the “Time” cover in December-when the magazine had chosen him as the person of the year. Trump is known to the swipes of this kind: he likes to use them when newspapers or TV stations let him stand in bad light. A similar “time” cover than the current had a far-reaching consequences. It should make Elon Musk listen. In 2017, the magazine Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon lifted on the cover and suggested that he was at the wheel instead of Trump. Trump was calmly here too. Behind the scenes, however, he is said to have excited himself about the magazine that Bannon would get too much attention, he complained, according to the “New York Times”. The chief strategist was released a short time later.

The relationship between Musk and Trump should also run less harmoniously behind the scenes than both men make it look public. While Trump repeatedly speaks full confidence in his consultant and praises his “great work”, it was stabbed before taking office in mid -January that he should be more annoyed behind closed doors to have muscle around. Above all, the jokes about Musk as President are said to have already added to him in the period between the election victory and take office.

Trump is currently supposed to be satisfied with Musk’s work, reports “Wired”, citing insiders. “I hear that the president is very enthusiastic about his efforts, they should work very closely together,” said a rank-high Trump confidant. However, this assessment came before the “Time” title. “Trump has a border when it comes to the fact that other successes have booked for themselves,” warned a confidante of “Vanity Fair”.

Trump’s relationship with the “Time Magazine” is complicated. “I like it even better than last time,” he praised the cover picture of the person of the year in December. Before that, he had attacked it again and again if he did not appear in the list of the most influential people of the year. The response is obviously important to him: Before he landed on the cover for the first time, he had had false cover from the magazine with his face in the Trump Tower in New York in New York.

Elon Musk, however, seems to be trying to smooth the waves. After the cover was unveiled, he might stand a little too enthusiastically behind the president in an X-Post. “I love Donald Trump as much as a heterosexual man can love another.”
