MADRID.- The former president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubialesconvicted of sexual assault for his forced kiss on the player Jenni Hermosowas the object of throwing eggs this Thursday by a man during the presentation of his book.
In several videos uploaded on social networks, the former Spanish football leader can be seen sitting on a stool wearing a white t-shirt and a dark jacket during the presentation of his book “Killing Rubiales”, when from the hallway of the room, between the seats, a man throws at least three eggs at him, one of them hitting Rubiales on the back.
The former president of the RFEF went in pursuit of the spontaneous man before he was subdued by attendees at the event held in Madrid.
The videos do not show what happens immediately afterwards with the aggressor once he is evicted from the room, but the presentation continues naturally.
On Tuesday night, Rubiales had defended his innocence for kissing Jenni Hermoso during the medal ceremony at the end of the Women’s World Cup final in Sydney on August 20, 2023.
Rubiales reiterated on the television program El Chiringuito that the kiss was “consensual,” and said he was a victim of a campaign by the “extreme left.”
Following a reform of the Spanish Penal Code, a non-consensual kiss can be considered sexual assault, a criminal category that encompasses all types of sexual violence.
Rubiales is also immersed in another case of alleged corruption surrounding the contract to relocate the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia.
MLS will be seen on Apple TV without additional subscription
The matches of Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and the rest of the North American League (MLS) can be followed starting in 2026 on Apple TV without the need for an additional payment, both partners announced this Thursday.
Apple TV acquired exclusive worldwide streaming rights to MLS in 2022 in a decade-long deal valued at about $2.5 billion.
The streaming platform began broadcasting the tournament in 2023, the year in which the MLS attracted global attention with Messi’s landing in Miami.
In these first three campaigns of the alliance, however, Apple TV subscribers who wanted to follow the competition had to subscribe to an additional service (MLS Season Pass).
