The United States Federal Police (FBI) has opened a criminal investigation against its former director James Comey and the former head of the CIA John Brennan, both allegedly aligned to the extreme left
According to Fox News Digital, the FBI will focus on “irregularities and evidence created” on research on Russian interference accusations in the 2016 elections, which Trump won, and alleged false statements in Congress.
The director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, nominated by Trump, has transmitted to the director of the FBI, Kash Patel, a series of tests on Brennan that supports an eventual accusation, says Fox News Digital, which quotes sources from the Department of Justice.
Comey and Brennan were appointed by Democratic President Barack Obama.
To a question about the alleged investigation during an interview on Tuesday night with Fox News Channel, the White House spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, said he is “happy to listen to him.”
“Both despicable individuals turned against our Constitution and our country“Leavitt said.” And I am sure that, in fact, they lied to Congress, “he added. If they did the Department of Justice,” investigate that and process them, Leavitt estimated.
Serious actions against the Constitution and the US
In his first mandate (2017-2021), Trump fired Comey when he headed an investigation into whether any member of the Republican campaign conspired with Moscow to influence the 2016 elections between him and the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, something that was totally denied by a four-year investigation on the subject and whose concrete and precise conclusions about the serious manipulation of the FBI and agencies Intelligence in the false case created were left without some judicial conviction.
The investigation was carried out by the special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who “discovered” that there was Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections in favor of Trump.
But Mueller said that the investigation “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspire or coordinate with the Russian government” for the “electoral interference.”
In 2018 Trump revoked Brennan the security authorization that allows access to classified information. He accused him of making “unfounded and scandalous accusations” about his administration.
The Department of Justice refused to confirm the opening of an investigation into Comey and Brennan.
“We do not comment on the ongoing investigations,” said a spokesman on Wednesday.
