They confirm that the referee camera will not show controversial plays in the Club World Cup

Miami.- The images recorded by the body cameras of the referees of the Club World Cup They can be used for television retransmissions, except those that show controversial actions, the FIFA.

The use of these small devices is one of the technological innovations that will be tested in this edition of the Club World Cup, which is launched on Saturday in the United States with 32 participants from all continents.

The cameras will be installed on the referee’s headset and will offer unique goals and other plays for television repetitions. Live can be broadcast some of the prolegomena of the parties, such as the raffle of the fields.

The spectators, however, cannot review arbitration decisions such as penalties or other controversial plays through this new camera angle.

“The goal is to offer viewers a new experience,” said Pierluigi Collina, president of the FIFA Referees Committee, in a media presentation of these technological innovations.

The famous Italian ex -arter did not rule out that the use of these cameras, which will be tested for a possible introduction in other tournaments, serves in the future to offer controversial actions.

“We are going step by step. For now it is a test,” said Collina. “We have to do something new and, the simpler, the better. That is why we have established some rules within a protocol. Will we offer these images in the future? Maybe or perhaps not.”

Other options

In another of the measures, the giant stadium screens will offer images of the VAR as reviewed by the referees in the pitch monitors.

The referee, then will announce his final decision through the megaphony system and television broadcast.

The tournament will also have an advanced version of the semi -automatized offside, which will use 16 cameras connected to an artificial intelligence system that will send an audio message to the assistant referee when an offside player touch the ball.

This system must reduce the cases in which the game continues after an out of clear place, to be subsequently canceled by the VAR.

The tournament will introduce a new rule according to which the goalkeepers have eight seconds to release the ball after taking it or its team will be punished with a corner kick against.
