“Submarines don’t fish”
In recent weeks, Washington has intensified naval and air operations in the Caribbean and the Pacific with the aim of combating drug trafficking routes and “narcoterrorism”, especially that which comes from Venezuela, through the Cartel of the Suns, a criminal organization that would be led by the regime of Nicolás Maduro.
This Sunday, a US missile-launching warship arrived in Trinidad and Tobago, a small archipelago located off Venezuela, according to journalists from the AFP in Port of Spain.
President Trump defended this Tuesday the attacks that US forces have carried out against ships in the Caribbean Sea. “The radical left Democrats said they were just fishing. Well, Submarines don’t fish, right? You know more about submarines than me“Trump stated aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, at the Yokosuka naval base, Japan.
With the actions announced today, the United States has made at least 13 attacks against drug trafficking vessels—among them, nine boats and a semi-submersible—since September. In addition, there would be a death toll of 57 alleged narcoterrorists.
