United Nations, Jan 28 (Efeverde) .- The United States departure from the Paris Agreement, announced by President Donald Trump after his investiture, will take practically one year to become effective, until the beginning of 2026, as reported by the UN.
Dujarric points out that the North American country already disconnected from the Treaty during the first presidency of Trump (2017-2021), but the departure became effective after starting the mandate, in November 2020, and under the administration of Joe Biden it did not take long in rejoining, in 2021.
As on that occasion, billionaire Michael Bloomberg has announced that it will finance the US climate commitments through its foundation after the withdrawal.
The ten most important keys to the Paris Agreement
According to the still valid climatic agreements, the United States had a financing goal for the climatic adaptation of 300,000 million dollars by the year 2035, agreed at the Cop29 Climate Summit of Baku in November last year.
With his withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, the US will join the short list of countries that have abandoned this climate agreement, including Iran or Yemen, in a year in which the signatories have to present their plans to cut the emissions .
Trump announced his determination for leaving the agreement shortly after his investiture, when he expressed his intention to declare energy emergency to promote oil extractions. Efeverde
