Thanks to an intervention Donald Trump wants it like this: "Rush hour 4" should come

Donald Trump is said to have campaigned for a continuation of the “Rush Hour” series – and apparently with success. “Rush Hour 4” is actually supposed to come to the screen.

In 2007, “Rush Hour 3”, the last part of the buddy cop film series, was released with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker as unlikely police officers. In addition to a lot of humor and lots of action, the film trilogy also offered poorly aged jokes about racist stereotypes. And apparently the “Rush Hour” films are also well received by US President Donald Trump. Because he is now said to have successfully campaigned for “Rush Hour 4” to become a reality.

The sequel is said to be in the works at the film studio Paramount, reports the US industry magazine “Variety”. The Semafor portal had previously reported that President Trump had personally asked the studio to revive the series. The long-established Hollywood studio Paramount merged with David Ellison’s Skydance Media this year. Ellison’s father, Larry, is one of President Trump’s most prominent financial supporters as well as one of the richest people in the world.

According to the Variety report, director Brett Ratner is also set to return for Rush Hour 4. He directed all three previous “Rush Hour” films, but has de facto canceled from Hollywood since 2017 following allegations of sexual misconduct. At the beginning of the year, Ratner filmed the documentary “Melania” about First Lady Melania Trump, for which Amazon is said to have paid $40 million.

If the project becomes reality, “Rush Hour 4” would be Ratner’s first directorial work since “Hercules” with Dwayne Johnson in 2014. Jackie Chan, now 71, and Chris Tucker are also expected to return for the fourth part. Tucker’s last leading film role was “Rush Hour 3” from 2007. Since then, the mime has only been seen on the big screen three times.
