Ramiro Ortiz has been appointed as the new general manager of Tetra Pak Mexico, the Swedish company specializing in food packaging and processing solutions. With more than 60 years in the country, Tetra Pak installed its first production plant outside Sweden in Mexico.
With a 25-year career in the company, Ortiz has held various management positions in Brazil, the United States, Sweden and Spain. His new challenge will be to boost Tetra Pak’s growth in Mexico, a strategic market for the company.
Tetra Pak currently has two major plants in Mexico: one in Querétaro, which produces packaging material, and another that makes lids for its containers. The company recently invested more than 1.25 billion pesos in the expansion of these facilities.
Plastic, an important sector in NL
In Mexico, more than 15,400 businesses depend on activities related to plastic and rubber, with 85 percent of these companies being small and medium-sized, highlighting their crucial role in job creation. By 2024, a 5 percent growth is anticipated in this industry, according to specialists.
The main countries investing in this sector in Mexico are the United States, Germany and France, with a combined investment of 286 million dollars. Nuevo León stands out among the five states with the largest number of businesses in the plastics industry, along with Guanajuato, the State of Mexico, Jalisco and Mexico City. Apodaca, in particular, is the second municipality in the country in terms of income from this activity. To bring together companies in the sector, Expo Poliplast will be held from August 14 to 16 at Cintermex, consolidating itself as a key platform to present the latest trends in products and services, from raw materials and resins to specialized machinery.
Ford puts new CEO for Mexico at the wheel
Ford Motor Company has named Lucien Pinto as president and general manager for Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America and the Caribbean, effective October 1, 2024. Pinto will replace Luz Elena del Castillo at a key time for the brand.
Pinto, who has been with Ford for more than two decades, joined the Mexico team in 2017 and has led Marketing and Sales since 2019. Under his leadership, Ford Mexico has seen 21.9 percent sales growth in the first half of 2024, with a 3.6 percent market share.
The company thanked Luz Elena del Castillo for her 16 years of service, highlighting her role in establishing the Global Technology and Business Center (GTBC) in Mexico.
Dynatrace celebrates five years since its NYSE listing
Dynatrace, the security and observability platform, celebrated the fifth anniversary of its initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Since its debut in 2019, the company has shown impressive growth, surpassing $1 billion in annual revenue and serving more than four thousand organizations globally.
In five fiscal years, Dynatrace has achieved a compound annual growth rate of 28 percent, accumulating nearly $5 billion in revenue and more than $1 billion in operating cash flow.
The company’s stock performance has increased by almost 180 percent since the IPO. Rick McConnell, CEO of Dynatrace, highlighted the company’s transformation from independent to a market leader in software public, always keeping the focus on innovation and customer success.
New hire at JeffreyGroup
The new additions are JeffreyGroup, an agency specializing in the Latin American market, with extensive local experience, regional reach and global capabilities; it has just hired Fernando Morales as president for Mexico. He will have the challenge of continuing to develop the company’s operations in the country, and of consolidating the growth of its client portfolio, considering reputation management as its main focus.
Fernando has more than 25 years of experience. He has worked in both the public and private sectors. He has been a journalist, consultant and public servant. Until a few months ago, he was the Director of Reputation and Communications at Grupo Modelo. He will team up with Karla Zamora, managing director of the company in Mexico, and, together with his consultants, will advise his clients in times of change such as those we are currently experiencing in the country.
