Tagovailoa on rumors that he could be benched: “My performance has to improve”

Given the terrible season of the Miami Dolphins Currently and with recent changes in the offices, the main players of the team have not been able to avoid criticism from fans and experts, especially the quarterback Tua Tagovailoawho for many of them is one of the main people responsible for the organization’s bad times.

After Miami decided to take different paths with its general manager Chris Grier Last week, some reports suggested that the internal movements in the Dolphins are going to continue and one of the most intriguing among the team’s fans is the possibility of Tagovailoa being benched.

When asked by the press about it on Wednesday, Tagovailoa assured that he had not heard those rumors because he does not have social networks. In any case, the star does not hide that his performance has been far from what was expected and that he needs to improve considerably if the Dolphins plan to win several of their remaining games in the tournament.

“I wouldn’t say I’m playing to keep my job,” the quarterback told the media present. “I think I’m playing to help the team win every game. I think that’s the goal for any quarterback that’s playing and for every player in general. The goal is: How can I help my team win games?”

Complex year for everyone

With that in mind, Tagovailoa reiterated that he is very aware that he needs to improve his performance on the field in order to help his teammates get out of the current bad streak of the institution led by Mike McDaniel.

“If you look at it that way, I would say my performance needs to be better and my performance doesn’t reflect that I’m trying to keep my job, because that’s not the standard I’ve been playing to for all those other years,” he explained.

Tagovailoa was tied for the league lead in interceptions (11) and his pass rating was 25th.

However, the statistics reflect that the quarterback is not the main problem of the Dolphins offense, he simply is not helping to solve it.
