The United States Supreme Court on Monday rejected President Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn a jury’s ruling on an alleged sexual assault and defamation of former porn actress E. Jean Carroll.
The Supreme Court did not give any reason for its decision not to admit the President’s appeal.
At the end of June, the Supreme Court had already refused to hear Trump’s appeal against the original verdict of May 2023.
Carroll, 82, accused Trump of allegedly “assaulting” her in a New York department store fitting room in 1996.
Trump paid $5.6 million to Carroll last month after a civil jury found he sexually assaulted and defamed her.
When the allegations were made public in a book she published in 2019, the president called Carroll “unbalanced” and claimed she had fabricated her version of events.
In another defamation case in New York, Trump was ordered to pay $83.3 million to Carroll.
Trump has also appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court.
