The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry agreed to a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension that keeps him under contract through the 2026-27 season, his agent told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
It was the longest deal the Warriors could offer the four-time NBA champion. NBAaccording to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
Curry, 36, is guaranteed to receive $178 million over the next three years of his contract, Wojnarowski added.
Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. expressed optimism in July that the team would extend Curry’s contract this summer.
“That guy can get whatever he wants… I think those things will work out and he’ll be a Warrior for life,” Dunleavy said.
Curry is coming off a memorable performance at the Olympics. He scored 36 points in Team USA’s comeback win over Serbia in the semifinal and added another 24 points to help the Americans beat France in the gold medal game.
Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 74 appearances last season. He also earned his 10th career All-Star nod and earned Clutch Player of the Year honors.
Golden State selected Curry with the seventh overall pick in 2009. He has spent his entire career in the Bay Area and is the Association’s all-time leader in 3-pointers. The 10-time All-NBA selection was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.
