Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) has spoken appreciatively of US presidential candidate Kamala Harris. “I know her well, she would certainly be a good president,” said Scholz in the SAT.1 program “:newstime Spezial,” which is to be broadcast on Tuesday evening. When asked whether he would prefer Kamala Harris or Donald Trump as the next US head of state, Scholz did not want to give a clear answer – “it is not appropriate to judge that from here,” he said.
However, he could “clearly say that Kamala Harris is an experienced politician.” Harris wants to “stick to what is important to us,” namely good transatlantic cooperation between the US and Europe, Scholz said.
