MADRID.- The forward of the real Madrid, Rodrygoattracted unwanted attention days before the Champions League final after he said he is open to leaving the Spanish powerhouse.
The Brazilian international reiterated his loyalty to the club on social media on Wednesday and assured that his words were taken out of context.
“A very annoying situation occurred today, where one of my interviews was completely taken out of context,” he posted on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. “To be very direct, I am VERY happy at Real Madrid, I live a dream every day and it does NOT cross my mind to leave the club of my life! Now we continue with history to make. For the 15 GO TO MADRID AND NOTHING ELSE !”
Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
In edited fragments of the interview he gave to DAZN, Rodrygo indicated that “anything can happen,” even though he has a contract with the club until after the 2028 campaign. Using the past tense, he indicated that “the years I have been here “They were a pleasure.” He reiterated that he has always wanted to be with the team and added: “We'll see…”.
In another interview with Placar magazine from Brazil, Rodrygo indicated that he does not want to “close any doors” and spoke about how much he enjoys the English Premier League.
