MIAMI.- Apparently Ariana Grande and her ex-boyfriend, dancer and photographer Ricky Álvarez, have been spending time together these days. The former couple was seen having lunch before Grande’s concert in Texas on Friday, as part of the tour Eternal Sunshine.
“They have been spending time together lately,” a source revealed to People, although a rep for the singer declined to comment.
Recently, Grande broke up with Ethan Slater, her co-star in the film Wicked.
The magazine confirmed that Grande, 33, and Slater had ended their relationship in early 2026. The singer dated Alvarez, also 33, between 2015 and July 2016.
“We’re happy,” Grande told Billboard about the relationship in May 2016.
“I’m a very happy girl. I lead a healthy life right now and I think that’s all people are interested in knowing. Period,” she added.
After her breakup with Álvarez, Grande maintained relationships with Mac Miller, Pete Davidson, Dalton Gómez and, most recently, Slater. However, Grande and Álvarez have maintained their friendship. The dancer even reacted to the mention of his name in the singer’s 2018 hit, Thank you, Nextpublishing a casual video on their stories from Instagram, the magazine reported.
The exchange of messages sparked rumors that the two had rekindled their relationship amid Grande’s breakup with Pete Davidson, but she was quick to clarify that they were friends at the time.
“We’re friends; everyone, breathe easy,” Grande responded, adding a black heart emoji.
In his most recent interpretations of Thank you, NextGrande has modified the lyrics that refer to Álvarez. On June 26, she sang: “I wrote some songs about Ricky; I know he’s still supporting me.” Days earlier, he had sung, “I wrote some songs about Ricky; they still sound great now.”
