Raphinha misses Barcelona’s next two games

BARCELONA. FC Barcelona will not be able to count on Raphinha in their next two games, against Getafe in LaLiga and Galatasaray in the Champions League, due to an injury to his right thigh suffered during his participation with the Brazilian team.

The Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick, confirmed this Friday the attacker’s absence and ruled out that it was a serious injury. However, he insisted on the need to act with caution to avoid complications, especially since the Brazilian suffered three injuries in the same area last season.

Flick also criticized the international calendar and questioned the need for Brazil to play a friendly in Australia, which forced the player to make a long trip.

“Was it really necessary for me to go to play a friendly in Australia, traveling so many thousands of kilometers? It’s incredible,” said the German coach.

The coach also highlighted the dedication of Raphinha, whom he described as a player who “always gives everything 100%” and does not measure his efforts, a characteristic that can increase the risk of injuries.

The Brazilian’s absence represents a setback for Barcelona, which has found in him one of its main offensive references at the beginning of the season. Relocated as a center forward, Raphinha has 14 goals in eight games in all competitions, a record that places him among the top scorers in European football.

The Barça team, leader of LaLiga with 21 points, will host Getafe at the Camp Nou on Saturday. Later, they will travel to Istanbul to face Galatasaray on the second day of the Champions League.

Physical problems have previously affected the attacker’s season. Last year he suffered an injury during Brazil’s friendly against France in Boston and also suffered hamstring discomfort during the 2026 World Cup.

Barcelona hopes that the recovery evolves favorably to avoid a longer absence in a demanding stretch of the season.
