Proceedings on the hush money affair: Trump again at a court hearing in New York

Former US President Donald Trump arrived in New York on Monday for another of his many court appearances. The Manhattan District Criminal Court wants to set a new date for the start of the trial on charges of falsifying business documents in connection with a hush money payment to ex-porn actress Stormy Daniels. The trial was actually supposed to begin this Monday, but was postponed.

Trump will have another court date later on Monday in New York. This is about the security deposit of almost half a billion dollars that the real estate entrepreneur has to provide after his civil conviction for business fraud.

The public prosecutor's office has given Trump a deadline of this Monday to either deposit the sum of around 454 million dollars (418 million euros) or to provide bail bonds of this amount. If he doesn't do this, his accounts could be blocked or parts of his real estate could be confiscated.
