US media have just reported that the couple left the USA and moved to the Cotswolds because of Donald Trump (78). But now the posh farmhouse there, including a gym and six bedrooms, is said to be threatened by flooding.
Millions of properties under water
Their 43-acre site was flooded after the River Thames burst its banks earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported on November 30. Numerous streets in the region are therefore impassable after they were flooded with one and a half meters of water, and residents are trapped in their houses.
The Cotswolds is a picturesque and affluent area of England, located approximately two hours northwest of London. Many British celebrities own country houses there – including David (49) and Victoria Beckham (50), Kate Moss (50) and Elizabeth Hurley (59).
As the US portal “TMZ” reported, DeGeneres and de Rossi recently bought a multi-million pound property there. The decisive factor for this decision was the election of Donald Trump as the next US President. His victory left them with a feeling of “great disillusionment”, which is why they wanted to leave the USA permanently.
They already enjoyed a cozy pub evening
In England, it was said, they wanted to start a new life. According to reports, the two had already settled in somewhat in the Cotswolds. So they enjoyed an evening in Jeremy Clarkson’s Cotswolds pub “The Farmer’s Dog”. Pop stars James Blunt, 50, and Natalie Imbruglia, 49, were also in attendance, a video on the pub’s Instagram page showed. According to several sources, they are also said to have planned to sell their luxurious villa in Montecito, California. It wasn’t until 2023 that they sold another property there for $96 million.
