Pitched battle between Miami Heat and Houston Rockets

A fight broke out during the last minute of the victory Miami Heat 104-100 on the Houston Rockets after Amen Thompson grabbed Tyler Herro’s jersey and threw him to the ground.

Thompson approached Herro in the Heat’s backcourt as Miami prepared to rebound the ball with 35.7 seconds left. The two seemed to exchange words before becoming entangled. Thompson then slammed Herro onto the court by the Miami bench, causing an altercation involving several players.

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka, assistant coach Ben Sullivan, Jalen Green and Thompson were ejected afterward. Heat guard Terry Rozier, who lunged at Thompson immediately after Herro was thrown, was ejected along with Herro by Miami.

Herro, finishing with game-highs of 27 points and nine assists, suggested his play frustrated Thompson.

“I guess that’s what happens when someone is scoring, doing everything,” said Herro, who also had six rebounds in the game, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.
