NEW YORK.- The attorneys general of New York and of New Jersey announced on Wednesday the opening of an investigation “into the ticket sales practices of the FIFA“for him World of 2026 football, which begins on June 11.
Exorbitant income prices have been a cause of tension around the first World Cup expanded to 48 teams, which will be played in USA, Mexico and Canada.

They also stated “that FIFA’s public statements, as well as the putting on sale of tickets, could have contributed to the disproportionate increase in prices.”
In mid-May, the attorney general of California, Rob Bontahad already asked FIFA for clarification about “possible deceptive commercial practices”, based on an investigation by The Athletic.
It had also invited California consumers who believed they had been deceived to file a complaint.
Fan groups have also raised their voices against high prices.
The organization Football Supporters Europe (FSE) recently accused football’s governing body of “extortion” and “monumental betrayal.”
The federation responded to The Athletic in April that the stadium plans presented at the time of purchase, and subsequently modified, were “orientative.”
Sarri leaves Lazio
