Museum of London announces that it will display a statue of pilot Lando Norris

LONDON.- The current world champion Formula 1, Lando Norriswill soon have his wax statue in the museum Madame Tussaudsthe famous London institution announced this Thursday in a statement.

Norris’ statue will be displayed alongside those of his fellow Briton and F1 world champion, Lewis Hamiltonas well as other sports stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah and Anthony Joshua.

“It’s quite surreal to think that I will have a statue at Madame Tussauds, it is an immense honor,” declared the 26-year-old British pilot, quoted in the statement, who worked with the museum’s teams to design the wax replica of himself and his helmet.

“Working with the artists has been incredible, and seeing all the detail they have put into the figure is really impressive. I am really looking forward to the fans coming to see the finished figure in London this summer,” said the driver from Somerset (southwest of England), who came to Formula 1 in 2019 before winning his first world title last year at the wheel of a McLaren.

India will organize World Athletics Championships

India will host for the first time the World Indoor Athletics Championshipsin 2028, announced this Thursday the president of the international federation (World Athletics), Sebastian Coe.

“The World Athletics Council awarded (Thursday) morning the next two editions of the World Indoor Championships, in Odisha, in Indiain 2028 and in Astana, in Kazakhstanin 2030,” declared the Briton on the eve of the start of the 2025 edition in Torum, in Poland.

The election of the State of Odisha, in eastern India, marks a first for the most populous country in the world (more than 1.4 billion inhabitants), which had never hosted a prestigious World Athletics event.

Additionally, Amdavad, also known as Ahmedabad, was confirmed as the host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

These two events could serve as a springboard for India’s candidacy for the organization of the Olympics summer 2036.
