Miami is out of the venues for the 2025 Gold Cup

MIAMI.- The Gold Cup The 2025 Concacaf Championship will be held in 13 fields in the United States and one in Canada in parallel with the new FIFA Club World Cup, the North, Central and Caribbean Football Confederation reported this Wednesday.

The eighteenth edition of Concacaf’s top national team tournament will take place between June 14 and July 6, 2025.

The 14 stadiums selected for this biennial tournament do not include any on the East Coast of the United States, the region that is expected to host the majority of the Club World Cup between June 15 and July 13.

Three of the stadiums will host the Gold Cup for the first time, including BC Place in Vancouver, the only one located in Canada.

The state of California concentrates five of the tournament fields and the state of Texas concentrates another four. The selection includes a mix of MLS and American Football League (NFL) stadiums.

The competition will also serve as a prelude to the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“This Gold Cup will represent a great challenge for all participating federations and will be fundamental in their preparation towards the FIFA World Cup,” Victor Montagliani, president of Concacaf and vice president of FIFA, said in a statement.

Among the 14 stadiums, there are five that will host matches in the 2026 World Cup: AT&T Stadium in Dallas, BC Place in Vancouver, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, NRG Stadium in Houston and SoFi Stadium, just outside from Los Angeles.

Mexico will defend the title achieved in 2023 and will try to increase its advantage as the most successful team in the tournament, with a total of nine trophies.

The official draw for the competition, involving 16 teams, will be held on April 10.

Tragedy in Venezuela

Five dead, including three minors, were left in the accident of a bus transporting a children’s soccer team in Venezuela, sports authorities reported this Wednesday.

“The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) joins the mourning for those killed in the tragic accident suffered by the Real Barcelona team,” reads a statement from the organization confirming the five deaths in the incident.

The bus overturned on Tuesday night as it passed through the town of Caripe, Monagas state (east), when the little soccer players were returning to their place of origin in the neighboring state of Anzoátegui after a tournament for teams of boys ages 5 to 10. .

The FVF expressed condolences to “the families and friends of the victims, as well as the football community, which unites in this time of mourning.”

Two of the deceased minors were 5 years old and another was 15.
