Curiosity is high: Melania Trump’s memoirs have become a bestseller around four weeks before their publication.
Melania Trump (54) will not publish her memoirs until October 1st, but the book is already becoming a bestseller. “Melania: A Memoir” can already be pre-ordered on Amazon and is currently the “No. 1 bestseller” in the “US Presidents” category. The book is also in third place in the list of biographies and fourth in the list of new releases.
Melania Trump promises “unprecedented insight”
According to the description, in “Melania” the former First Lady reflects on her “Slovenian childhood, the defining moments that led her into the world of haute couture in Europe and New York, and the chance encounter with Donald Trump that changed her life forever.”
Since former US President Donald Trump’s (78) departure from the White House in January 2021, Melania Trump has largely kept a low profile. Her memoirs are now intended to offer a personal insight into her life. “She tells behind the scenes of her time in the White House and offers an unprecedented insight into her time as First Lady, who was born outside the United States.”
According to Melania Trump’s website, where “Melania” is available for $40 or signed for $75, the book tells the “powerful and inspirational story of a woman who defined personal excellence, overcame adversity and forged her own path.”
“The former First Lady invites readers into her world and offers an intimate portrait of a woman who lived an extraordinary life.” The website also promises “stories and images that have never before been shared with the public.”
From the small Slovenian town to the White House
Melania Trump is the third wife of Donald Trump. She was born in 1970 in Slovenia as Melanija Knavs and grew up in the small town of Sevnica. After graduating from school, she began studying architecture in Ljubljana, but dropped out and devoted herself to her modeling career.
In 1995, at the age of 25, Melania moved to New York, where she met millionaire Donald Trump, 24 years her senior, at a party thrown by her agent in September 1998. After Trump’s divorce from his second wife, the two became a couple and their spectacular wedding followed in January 2005. Their son Barron (18) was born in March 2006. In the same year, Melania Trump became a US citizen.
Almost ten years later, her life was to change significantly again when her husband entered the fight for the Republican nomination for the 2016 presidential election, then won and made Melania the 47th First Lady of the United States.
During the election campaign, her time in the White House and after the presidency, Melania Trump largely stayed in the background. The 54-year-old is also keeping a low profile in Donald Trump’s current campaign for the presidential election in November. It remains to be seen whether or how the publication of the memoirs and their content just a few weeks before the election could have an impact.
