Major League Baseball (MLB) announced Monday that Kyle Stowersgardener of the Miami Marlinshas been appointed player of July in the National Leaguea recognition presented by Chevrolet. With this achievement, Stowers becomes the first Marlins player to receive this award from Giancarlo Stanton in 2017.
The 27 -year -old left -handed batter registered an impressive offensive line of .364/.451/.818, connecting 10 homers and towing 20 races in 24 games during July. In addition, he led all the qualified batters of the National League in PAHO (1,269), WRC+ (239), promoted races and slugging, highlighting as one of the most explosive offensive figures of the month.
Stowers established club records for the month of July in Slugging and PAHO, in addition to becoming the first batter of the Marlins to connect 10 or more home runs in July since Stanton 12 in 2017. Their performance was key to keeping Marlins in the fight for a place in postseason.
One of the most memorable moments of the month arrived on July 13 against Baltimore, when Stowers had a historical performance with five hits, three home runs and 14 total bases, which earned him the award to the player of the week of the National League for the second time in the season. Only four players in the history of the Marlins have won multiple weekly awards in the same year.
In his next game, on July 18, he made history again by connecting two home runs, becoming the first franchise player with five home runs in a period of two games. This feat has only been matched by Ty Cobb in 1925, according to official records since the rates are a statistic.
A dream month for the toleter of the Marlins
Stowers also represented the Marlins in the 95th game of MLB stars held in Atlanta, where he participated in the first “swing-off” in the history of the event, connecting a crucial homer for the National League to take the victory.
Acquired from the Baltimore Orioles on July 31, 2024, Stowers has shone in its first complete campaign in Miami. It is currently among the five best of the National League on average batting (.296), Slugging (.575), PAHO (.948) and WRC+ (158).
This recognition reaffirms Kyle Stowers as one of the great offensive revelations of 2025 and confirms that Marlins have found a key piece for their present and future.
