Marlins pitcher demonstrates their best version in the midst of rumors of change

In the last two months, few pitchers in the National League have had as highlighted performance as that of Edward Cabrera. The Dominican, who has become the most appealing piece within the Miami Marlins Rumbo to the deadline of changes, he once again demonstrated his best version on Tuesday, in a duel that the fish won 4-3 against the parents of San Diego in the Landepot Park.

Cabrera, who was doing its premiere in the second half of the season, worked for five entries and two thirds, in which it barely allowed a race and went through the guillotine to a total of six opponents.

That was the continuation of a solid streak for the Quisqueyano, whose irregular performances in their first contests in the major leagues led many to doubt whether one day could demonstrate the immense potential that was seen in him from early on his career.

“I learned,” the arm said in statements for the official portal of the Marlins. “Many people go through very complicated moments and simply lower their heads. So what I can say is that I have learned from all those bad moments I spent,” he added.

The talented Miami shotgun has been involved in multiple rumors of change due to its good performances. Cabrera spent 10 days among his most recent outings, after leaving his last appearance of the first half of the tournament with discomfort in his elbow.

“I was not worried at all because I trust myself and I know I will return,” he said.

In the elite

With this solid new action, the right was fourth in effectiveness (2.18) between 56 qualified serpentineros (with a minimum of 40 innings launched) since last May 25. In that same list, Cabrera was tenth in whip (1.08) and eleventh as a percentage of strikeouts (27.1%).

“I try not to think about it,” Cabrera said about exchange rumors. “At the end of the day, it is something that is completely out of my control, so it doesn’t make much sense that I think too much about that.”
