María Corina Machado: there will be no repression that will stop 30 million Venezuelans

CARACAS.Maria Corina Machado called again this Tuesday to citizens in Venezuela and outside to the concentration next Thursday, January 9, to undertake the crusade for the triumph of Edmundo González Urrutia as president-elect and the restitution of the democracy and invited us to overcome fear.

“There is no possible repression against 30 million Venezuelans, it is the reality that compromises us like a river that overflows, while there are fractures and divisions in the regime,” said Machado in a press conference with national and international media, facing the inauguration scheduled for January 10.

Machado gave his statements from clandestinity, a few days before the concentration in a climate of high tension, one day before the presidential swearing-in before the National Assembly that keeps Venezuelans and the international community in tension.

In this context, Maduro, who has reiterated that he will take office on January 10, has more than 1,000 soldiers and police deployed throughout the country, with the threat of arresting González Urrutia if he enters the country to take office. , according to the vote of more than 85% of voters on July 28, which has been endorsed by the Carter Center and the United Nations.

Machado and concentration

After referring to the anguish and uncertainty experienced in Venezuela, he highlighted that all Venezuelans, beyond any differences, aspire to have dignity, respect, justice and family unity.

Although he pointed out that the political work did not have resources or media support, he said that “we took away several pillars from Maduro.” He mentioned the social control that would have been evident after his defeat in the July 28 election; legitimacy and international support.

“What remains for the regime is repression and fear,” he stated.

He invited Venezuelans to check the GanoVzla.Info page at night, where the meeting points and other details for the concentration will be indicated, such as wearing shirts with the colors of the flag.

“The message is for all Venezuelans, children, young people, grandmothers; May they go with the energy of a swollen river that is the pride of being Venezuelans and of being willing to do what needs to be done.”

Either tyranny or democracy

Machado also highlighted what he warned earlier in another message on his networks.

“They have to decide which side they are on: on the side of tyranny and violence, or on the side of democracy, the Constitution and the people of Venezuela.”

For Machado, “the time has come for the definition, the litmus test for Maduro, for the few supports that remain for him and for the democratic governments of the world.”
