Marc Márquez and Álex Márquez They starred in a dream debut in the new season of Moto GPachieving a historic double in the Thailand Grand Prix.
Marc took the victory after an exciting fight with his brother Álex, who led a large part of the race but lost the first position in the penultimate return.
The first GP of the year was a party for the Márquez family. Marc, now with Ducati, returned to the top of the podium with an impeccable performance. However, the triumph was not simple, since he had to deal with problems in the pressure of his motorcycle during half of the test.
Marc Márquez as at his best
Álex Márquez, also with Ducati, was about to get victory, but in the penultimate return his older brother executed a decisive overtaking. Despite this, second place represents a promising start for Álex in this new season.
“I always say it, àlex is diesel, he needs his time, he needs to have everything under control and, when he has everything in his hands, it is, as he has just demonstrated, as fast as me. Or almost,” explains Marc Márquez.
Bagnaia, third with doubts
The 2022 and 2023 world champion, Pecco Bagnaia, completed the podium in Thailand, although without showing his best version. The Italian pilot acknowledged that he could not approach the Márquez enough and that his best aspiration was to finish second.
“Marc was playing with us all the race. I gave everything, but I couldn’t get too close to Alex,” Bagnaia said, who did not have a good performance throughout the weekend.
A World Cup with a lot of show
The victory in Thailand marks the triumphal return of Marc Márquez, who leaves behind the physical problems that afflicted him in previous seasons. “I am exultant, it’s a dream. Starting this new path with Ducati and doing it with my brother is incredible,” said the eight -time world champion.
