Los Angeles Dodgers do not stop and keep the best reliever in MLB

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a four-year, $72 million contract with left-hander Tanner Scott, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

Scott’s deal includes deferred money and a signing bonus, a source told The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.

The 30-year-old pitcher was one of the best relievers available in free agency this winter after a tremendous 2024 campaign where he posted a 1.75 ERA, 2.92 FIP and 10.5 K/9 with the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres .

Scott ranks first among MLB’s best relievers since 2023 with a 4.5 WAR.

Scott is expected to anchor the back end of a Dodgers bullpen that should also feature Michael Kopech, Blake Treinen, Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia, Anthony Banda and Ryan Brasier. Brusdar Graterol is also on the list, but he underwent shoulder surgery in November.

The defending World Series champion Dodgers have been one of the busiest teams of the offseason. They have also signed Roki Sasaki, Blake Snell, Michael Conforto and Hyeseong Kim, re-signed Teoscar Hernandez and Treinen, and extended Tommy Edman.

They are the champions and currently remain the hottest team on the market.
