According to military information, around ten rockets have been fired to the south of the country for months. Most of them could be intercepted, explained an Israeli military spokesman. However, according to the “Times of Israel”, a rocket hit Ashkelon in the South Israeli city of Ashkelon and caused damage. According to the Israeli rescue service, a man was slightly injured by granats. In addition, several people were treated for anxiety.
The military wing of the Islamist Hamas complained to the attack. According to its own statements, the Israeli military bombed the rocket launcher in Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip, from which the floors had been fired. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the way to Washington from the plane with Defense Minister Israel Katz and ordered an “energetic reaction”, as the Prime Minister’s office announced. It continued to continue the “intensive” missions of the armed forces in the Gaza Strip against Hamas.
Netanyahu meets Trump again
Meanwhile, Netanyahu arrived in Washington, where he will meet US President Donald Trump for the second time since he took office. The Israeli thanked X for the invitation and announced that he wanted to talk to Trump about the new US customs package, the efforts to release the Hamas Geiseln in the Gaza Strip and the threat from Iran.
Trump had already received Netanyahu in early February – as the first foreign guest in his second term. It is once again a gesture of support for Israel’s right -wing prime ministers who are strongly criticized internationally because of the warfare in the Gaza Strip. Trump is known as a close ally Netanyahus.
The Gaza War triggered the worst massacre in the history of Israel, the terrorists of Hamas and other extremist Palestinian organizations on October 7, 2023 in Israel near the border to the Gaza Strip. On the Israeli side, more than 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 more than hosted as hostages into the Gaza strips. Since then, Israel has been fighting against Hamas in the coastal area.
According to the health authorities controlled by the Hamas in the Gaza Strip, more than 50,100 people have been killed so far. One third of it is therefore children and adolescents. The information cannot be checked independently. However, international organizations such as the UN consider them largely credible.
Again protests in the Gaza Strip
In the meantime, in Gaza there are repeated protests by residents against Hamas. In the Jabalija refugee camp in the north of the sealed coastal strip, several hundred Palestinians demonstrated for an end to the war with Israel. Many blamed Hamas for the deterioration in the humanitarian situation in the largely destroyed area. On posters and speech choirs it said, among other things: “Hamas is terrorism!”
Other residents were full of anger on Israel. They accused the armed forces to deliberately bomb residential areas. The protests were also directed against the blockade for aid deliveries imposed at the beginning of March in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Israel’s military is concerned about his own soldiers.
Since the beginning of the military operation, the Department of Defense has looked after around 16,500 injured soldiers – including 7,300 due to mental illnesses. In addition to post -traumatic disorders and anxiety, those affected often suffered from depression, said Limor Luria, head of the rehabilitation department.
