LeBron James sparks rumors with a nod to the 76ers in the middle of free agency

LeBron James once again fueled speculation about his future during his participation at Fanatics Fest, where one phrase was enough to ignite Philadelphia 76ers fans.

The leading scorer in NBA history was consulted about the aspects he is evaluating before announcing his decision in free agency and made it clear that his priority continues to be competing for the championship.

“The most important thing is that I want to compete. I want to do it at the highest level. I want to join a franchise that shares the same philosophy as me: building champion habits every day, but above all trusting the process,” James said.

The expression “trust the process” caused a mix of applause and boos among those present, as it is a phrase closely linked to the 76ers since the time of former manager Sam Hinkie and which was later adopted by Joel Embiid, known as “The Process.”

However, James was surprised by the reaction and clarified that this phrase has been part of his philosophy long before he associated with the Philadelphia franchise.

“I’ve been saying ‘trust the process’ since I was drafted in 2003. I don’t even know if Embiid was born then,” the 41-year-old star joked.

Where will LeBron James play?

Although he has not yet revealed what his next destination will be, several teams continue to be mentioned as possible candidates to sign him. Among them are the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves.

A day before, LeBron had announced that his decision will not take too long to be known, assuring that it will not take “much longer” to choose the team with which he will continue his legendary career.
