BARCELONA.- The young star of Barcelona, Lamine Yamalhe inherited on Wednesday the iconic number 10 of the Barca club, which was previously used by legends such as Lionel Messi either Diego Maradona.
“Our 10,” Barça wrote on social networks, accompanied by a video starring Yamal.
The 18 -year -old end, often compared to the Argentine star who also went through the Masía, the Club Academy, helped the Catalan giants to win a national triplet last season: Spanish League, Copa del Rey and Super Cup of Spain.
Yamal scored 25 goals in his more than 100 appearances with a team in which he debuted in 2023, when he was 15 years old, with Dorsal 41 in his shirt.
After a campaign using the number 27, Yamal was followed in the steps of Messi when taking number 19, which the Argentine took in the club between 2005 and 2008.
Ansu Fati inherited the 10 of Messi in 2021, when the player-currently in the Inter Miami-left Barça to go to Paris Saint-Germain.
Haracled by a series of injuries, Fati could not reach his potential in Barça and ended up being assigned to Monaco in early July.
Other stars, such as the Argentine Diego Maradona and the Brazilians Ronaldinho and Rivaldo, have taken the number 10 of Barcelona in the past.
However, in recent days, Yamal is in the focus of attention after celebrating his 18th birthday last weekend with a private event that involved the hiring of animators with dwarfism.
The Ministry of Social Rights of Spain has asked the Prosecutor to investigate that party after a complaint of the Association for People with Acondroplasia and other skeletal dysplasias (Adee).
