In September, King Charles III received (77) Donald Trump (79) at Windsor Castle – now the US President allegedly wants to return the favor. As “The Sun on Sunday” reported, he is planning a state visit by the British monarch next spring to mark the 250th birthday of the USA.
Queen Camilla is also expected to travel with them
The newspaper relies on sources from Washington DC and London. There is no official confirmation from Buckingham Palace yet. During the state visit, which according to the information will take place in April, a visit to the White House is also planned. Queen Camilla (78) will accompany her husband to the USA.
Many events are planned for 2026 to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The royal visit should be “an important moment” in the run-up to Independence Day celebrations on July 4, the report said. However, it remains to be seen whether the king’s health will allow him to make the long transatlantic journey. Charles announced in early 2024 that he had been diagnosed with cancer – but it is not known what type of cancer he has.
Donald Trump has already made two state visits to Great Britain
In September he welcomed US President Trump and his wife Melania (55) to Windsor Castle in Berkshire for his second state visit. The US President described it as “one of the highest honors of my life” as Charles welcomed him to the royal estate.
Charles, in turn, has also been a guest in the USA several times. As Prince of Wales, he traveled to the United States more than 20 times, according to The Sun, most recently in 2018 when he represented Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) at the funeral of former President George HW Bush (1924-2018).
