US President Donald Trump (78) was invited to a second state visit to Great Britain by King Charles (76). According to the BBC, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer (62) used his trip to the White House to hand over Trump’s invitation letter from King Charles.
Strandmer said that the last state visit of the US President in 2019 was an “enormous success” and the invitation to a second visit was “really historical” and “unprecedented”.
After reading the letter, Trump said that he had accepted the invitation and that it was an “honor” to visit the “fantastic” country. He added that King Charles was a “wonderful man”. Traditionally, according to the BBC, US president is not offered a state visit in the second term. Instead, they are invited to tea or lunch with the monarch at Windsor Castle.
Does Prince William Trump visit the White House?
Previously, there had already been rumors that US President Trump, Prince William (42), would soon be able to officially invite to a visit to Washington. This was reported by the “Mail on Sunday”. Accordingly, Trump was said to have been “enthusiastic” from the British heir to the throne when the two met in December when the Cathedral of Notre-Dame was reopened in Paris.
Already after her meeting in Paris, Donald Trump raved about Prince William. “He looked really good,” said the US President about the British. “He looked really nice and I told him too. We had a great conversation.”
Donald Trump is a fan of the royals
In January there was also a report on a possible, upcoming US trip from the British royal family. As the newspaper “The Times” reported, the British government planned to send high -ranking royal royals to the United States. The visit should serve to strengthen the special relationship between the two countries.
A key factor for the planning is apparently Donald Trump’s preference for the British royal family. “Donald Trump has a clear affinity for the royal family. He had a great relationship with the deceased Queen, recently met Prince William and said very positively about King Charles,” the newspaper quotes a high -ranking government source.
