American actor Kevin Spacey faces a new judicial process in the United Kingdom in 2026, a civil trial for accusations of sexual assault, three years after being acquitted in criminal litigation, a court reported this Wednesday.
The 66-year-old actor was sued at the High Court in London by three men over alleged incidents during his work at the British theater Old Vic.
The Oscar-winning actor for American Beauty He did not attend the hearing, which came after he was acquitted in a London trial in 2023 of sexual assault accusations brought against him by four men.
Two of the plaintiffs in this new trial were part of the previous process.
Spacey always denied the charges against him, but his career was marked by accusations, some of which arose during the #MeToo movement.
In 2022, he was found not guilty by a court in New York, in a civil case.
According to court documents, these three new claims concern “alleged sexual assaults by the defendant (Spacey) on younger men with whom they came into contact while working at the Old Vic theatre, two of them young actors.”
The reported events allegedly took place between 2004 and 2015. One of the plaintiffs, actor Ruari Cannon, who was not part of the 2023 process, also sued the theater.
This interpreter waived his right to remain anonymous, but the other two plaintiffs preferred not to be identified.
At the preliminary hearing this Wednesday, Judge Christina Lambert decided that the three cases be provisionally examined in October 2026.
