Jennifer Aniston attacks Donald Trump’s designated vice president on Instagram. The reason is JD Vance’s comments about women without children.
Jennifer Aniston (55) takes aim at JD Vance (39). “I really can’t believe this is coming from a potential Vice President of the United States,” the actress wrote in her Instagram stories. Vance is running as Vice President of former US President Donald Trump (78) for the Republicans in the race for the US presidency in 2024. Aniston is referring to comments that the 39-year-old made about women without children – and in particular Vice President Kamala Harris (59).
Vance on “childless cat ladies”
Three years ago, Vance said in an interview with then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson (55) that the United States was run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are unhappy about their own lives and the choices they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country unhappy, too.”
To back up his statement, he also named Kamala Harris: “It’s just a basic fact – look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children.”
Aniston turns to Vance
Aniston posted a tweet on her Instagram story referencing this 2021 interview, writing, “All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is lucky enough to have children of her own one day.” The “Friends” star herself has a history of unsuccessful in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, a method of artificial insemination. She continued, addressing Vance, “I hope she doesn’t have to resort to IVF as a second option. Because you’re trying to take that away from her too.”
Aniston’s wish to have children remained unfulfilled. In an interview with “Allure” in 2022, she spoke openly about this time: “I did everything for it. I would have given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think about it.”
Although Kamala Harris has no children of her own, she is stepmother to the two children of her husband Doug Emhoff (59). JD Vance has two sons and a daughter with his wife Usha Vance (38).
