After his meeting with US President Joe Biden, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to visit Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday. The meeting will take place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in the state of Florida. In an interview with Fox News, former President Trump called on Netanyahu to “quickly end” the Gaza war.
Netanyahu defended Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip in a speech to the US Congress in Washington on Wednesday (local time), and was received by Biden in the White House on Thursday. In Congress, Netanyahu was received with applause and cheers by Trump’s Republicans, while Biden’s Democrats were clearly reserved. The relationship between Biden and Netanyahu is extremely strained after the US President repeatedly made critical comments about Israel’s war effort in recent months.
