During the third presidential debate, the candidate for the PAN, PRI and PRD, Xóchitl Gálvez, launched against the national leader of Morena, Mario Delgadowhom he reported being investigated in the United States for alleged links to organized crime and fuel theft (huachicoleo).
“The revelation that I want to make to you tonight is very serious. Mario Delgado is under criminal investigation by United States security agencies,” the candidate highlighted during her intervention in the Insecurity and organized crime block.

The presidential candidate accused Delgado of associating with the businessman Arturo Carmonaknown as the 'King of Huachicol' to “put gasoline from the United States into Mexico without paying taxes” and explained that for this reason he referred to Morena as a “narco party” in the second debate.
“This business caused a loss of 700 billion pesos in taxes to the SAT, 150 million barrels of illegal gasoline and diesel entered. Carmona became the financier of Morena's campaignsuntil his death in 2021.”, assured Gálvez.
According to the version of the opposition candidate, Sergio Carmona's brother, Julio Carmonawas appointed administrator of the Reynosa Customs for this reason and added that the latter fled to the United States to become a protected witness.
Likewise, he stated that this week “they killed Carlos Narváez, nephew of the director of Pemex, a senior customs official here in Mexico City.”
Mario Delgado responds to Xóchitl: 'It is a faithful reflection of the decadence of the right'
In response, Mario Delgado denied the accusations against him during a transmission of NMore. When questioned about Xóchitl Gálvez's accusations, the president of Morena challenged the candidate to present evidence of her statements and assured that the attacks are part of a “strategy of lies”.
“I think it is a true reflection of the decadence of the right in Mexico. I don't have any research. She says that in the United States… well, I'm going to consult the United States government to see if what she is saying is true.”
