Inter Miami renews a Honduran pearl who will continue to be a key piece of the club

Inter Miami CF announced the renewal of the midfielder’s contract David Ruiz until the 2028 season of Major League Soccer (MLS), with the option to extend it until 2029. The Honduran-American player, trained in the club’s academy, continues to establish himself as one of the team’s most promising young talents.

Ruiz, 21, is playing his third season with the first team after signing as a Homegrown Player in 2023. Since then, he has been a fundamental part of the first two titles in Inter Miami’s history: the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 Supporters’ Shield, a tournament in which the club set a record for points in a single season.

The midfielder has played 71 official matches, with four goals and four assists. Additionally, he was the first academy player to score for the first team, scoring in a 2-1 win over New England Revolution on May 13, 2023.

David Ruiz arrived at the club in 2021, standing out first in the U-17 team and then in Inter Miami CF II, where he made 16 appearances and two assists in 2022. At the international level, he represents Hondurasa team with which he has already accumulated nine games, three goals and one assist. He also participated in the 2023 U-20 World Cup, scoring from a penalty against South Korea.

With this renewal, Inter Miami ensures the continuity of one of its most versatile and most promising footballers, reflecting the success of its youth training project.
