The year 2026 will be dreaming for fans of the area of Miami: Football and baseball worlds, Miami Open of Tennis, Grand Prix of Miami F1five professional clubs in action and the return of the final of the three races of the series NASCAR to the Homestead-Miami autodrome.
Nascar gave the news and the south of Florida will see the coronation of the Nascar’s Cup, Xfinity and Craftmans Truck Series champions, on the weekend of the speed between November 6 and 8, 2026.
“I am very excited with this designation in a 2026 full of activity,” said the president of the Homestead-Miami Autodrome, Guillermo Santa Cruz. “Miami is the capital of Latin America and has become the World Sports Axis.”
Santa Cruz said that while the autodrome track is in perfect condition it is a great challenge to re -organize the Nascar finals.
For 18 years, from 2002 to 2019, Homestead-Miami was the stage of the Nascar finals, the greatest amount for the standard cars championship since it began to be played in 1949.
In total, so far 75 finals have been played in 20 autodromes. Santa Cruz said that the surveys reveal that pilots, fans, mechanics and team owners prefer southern Florida as the scenario of the Nascar finals for all the amenities offered around the great sports party.
“We are going to invest a lot in making improvements to give fans a great experience,” said Santa Cruz. “We are going to renew all hospitality spaces, paint, expand the accesses and take care of every detail of the entire complex.”
The Miami Grand Prix is better splendor for 2026
Santa Cruz remarked that it is very encouraging that the fourth edition of the Grand Prix of F1 Crypto.com of Miami has broken an assistance record, with more than 275,480 spectators who attended the three days of the race from May 2 to 4 last at the Hard Rock Stadium.
“We do not compete with the F1, on the contrary we maintain very good relations with the Dolphins and the Grand Prix,” said Santa Cruz. “We meet frequently, we exchange ideas and support each other.”
Something that surely Nascar took note was the impact of the Docuserie “Drive to Survive” (driving to survive) of Netflix, about the intimacy of the F1. That production helped F1 gain enormous popularity in the United States.
Nascar was inspired by it and also in Netflix the docuserie “Fullspeed” appeared (at full speed).
On May 7, the second season of the series began, which goes beyond the races of Nascar but enters behind the curtain in the life of runners such as the current champion Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, William Byron and Mexican Daniel Suárez.
In the Docuserie not only talk about the pilots but there are emotional interviews with their wives, girlfriends and family such as Brittany Logano and Julia Piquet, wife of Suárez and daughter of the world champion of F1 Nelson Piquet.
“Nascar is the most popular car series in the United States, it is part of our culture and has the most loyal fans,” said Santa Cruz. “The finals in Homestead-Miami will be a great event. Its economic impact will be extraordinary. Everyone will meet here.”
