New Orleans.- Patrick Mahomesleader of the Kansas City Chiefsassumed responsibility after the resounding 40-22 defeat on Sunday before the Eagles of Philadelphia in it Super Bowl of 2025, where his team pursued an unpublished third title followed.
Mohomes, the current icon of the American Football League (NFL), starred in the worst performance that is remembered in the playoffs, committing two interceptions and being placed six times by the powerful defense of the Eagles.
“We did not start as we wanted,” acknowledged the ‘quartback’ of the Chiefs, who were left without scoring in the first half and came to lose 34-0.
“Ball losses hurt us and I assume all the fault for that,” he acknowledged. “Those losses changed the moment of the game and they capitalized it. They were 14 points that I somehow gave them and it is hard to return after that in a Super Bowl.”
Mohomes, who added 257 yards at the air, barely reacted in the final part of the game in the New Orleans Caesars Superdome giving the three TouchDowns passes.
The debacle also supposes a brake for the ‘quartback’, which has three NFL titles at 29, in his career for approaching the record of Tom Brady seven.
“I did not play at the height of my standards and I have to be better next time,” Mahomes admitted.
The other face of the currency
The ‘quartback’ Jalen Hurts was recognized this Sunday with his first MVP (most valuable player) prize of a Super Bowl in the overwhelming triumph of his Eagles over the Chiefs in New Orleans.
The award rounds the revenge of Hurts against the Mohomes Chiefs, who defeated him in the Super Bowl two years ago despite his heroic performance with four touchdowns.
This Sunday, Hurts could be imposed on a blurred version of Mahomes adding 221 yards and two pass touchdowns.
Taking advantage of defensive attention to the stellar ‘Running Back’ Saquon Barkley, Hurts was also a great threat in the race with 72 yards and a terrestrial touchdown.
“It’s not about winning one of these (awards) but what we have done,” said the field marshal when he received the award on the stage of the New Orleans Caesars Superdome.
