Musk, who is considered the richest man in the world, declared his support for the ex-president immediately after the July 13 attack. Since then, there have been joint campaign appearances and Trump’s announcement that he would provide Musk with a position in the government if he wins the election. The entrepreneur is supposed to reduce bureaucracy in the government apparatus and lay off numerous public employees.
Musk is probably pursuing tangible business interests with his electoral alliance: his companies SpaceX and Tesla operate in highly regulated industries and regularly clash with the US authorities. Under a Trump administration he is likely to have much more freedom in this regard.
The PAC founded by Musk is focused on promoting grassroots participation in the Nov. 5 election, particularly in battleground states like Pennsylvania. On its website, the lobbying group offers “$30 an hour” to those who help encourage people to vote.
In the presidential election on November 5th, former President Trump and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris will compete against each other. The polls predict an extremely close outcome of the election, which is seen as pointing the way for the future of US democracy and the world power’s future foreign policy.
