Fury and Joshua warm up their long-awaited December fight with jokes and respect

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua starred this Wednesday in a presentation marked by smiles and mutual respect before their long-awaited heavyweight fight, scheduled for December 11 in Cardiff.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua officially began the countdown to one of the most anticipated fights in British boxing. The two former world champions were smiling and respectful during a press conference held this Wednesday in London in front of nearly a thousand fans.

Fury, 38, has 36 wins in 39 fights, while Joshua, 36, has 30 wins in 34 fights. After years of crossed statements and trying to finalize the confrontation, both will finally meet on December 11 in Cardiff.

The presentation was far from the usual verbal confrontations of boxing. Fury even invited Joshua to share “a pint of Guinness” after the fight, while Joshua surprised during the traditional face-to-face by tickling his rival’s abdomen.

“They say this fight comes too late,” said Fury, known as the “Gypsy King.” “Entering that fight will be the icing on the cake for two great races. And may the best win,” he added.

The fight had initially been planned to take place in Saudi Arabia or the United States, but will finally take place on British territory. For Joshua, fighting in Cardiff also represents an opportunity to “inspire an entire generation.”
