Formula 1 starts with another predictable season

The traffic light will change from red to green for the first time this weekend to start the season of Formula 1. A long harvest that ends in December in Abu Dhabi with what we probably already know from today: Max Verstappen pentacampeón, even perhaps before the last scheduled race.

The Dutch pilot, backed by the unstoppable machinery of Red Bull Racing, seems to be in another category. His skill at the wheel, in combination with a team that does not spare in innovation, have made him the rival to win.

However, is a formula 1 exciting that seems aimed at a single narrative?

Competitiveness has always been the soul in any sport. Historical moments such as the rivalry between Senna and Prost, or the epic battles between Hamilton and Rosberg, or more recently that of Max with Hamilton himself in 2021 taught us that uncertainty is what keeps fans on the edge of the seat. The domain of the tetracampeon may generate feelings found: there may be admiration, but also nostalgia because there are already a few days of those races with several options to see the checkered flag.

Several questions

So what can we expect from this season? Will Ferrari finally have the necessary consistency to challenge Red Bull with the arrival of Hamilton? Will Mercedes manage to solve your technical problems to return to the top? And will there be a pilot capable of staggering the current champion? The season is long, but the chances of Max Verstappen getting its fifth consecutive world title seems to be larger than any stumbling block that may be presented.

Perhaps Verstappen’s greatness is established not only in his ability as a pilot, but to push his rivals to look for new ways of overcoming. Thus, although this season it may seem predictable on paper, let’s not underestimate the ability of sport to surprise us.

The curtain rises and the world observes, not only waiting for speed, but also the spark that transforms a predictable championship into an exciting one.
