Florida city among the Top 50 in the world recommended for tourism

MIAMI.- Jacksonville, in Florida, was named among the 50 best cities in the world to visit in 2024, according to the site specialized in tourism Travel Lemming.

This Northeast Florida city ranked 29th for its combination of a friendly and diverse atmosphere, as well as a variety of activities available without the crowds that often characterize other more popular cities, the document states.

In total, 15 US cities were included in the world list:

  • Memphis, Tennessee
  • Kodiak, Alaska
  • Eureka Springs, Arkansas
  • Voyageurs National Park, Minnesota
  • Vashon Island, Washington
  • Quincy, Massachusetts
  • Jacksonville, Florida
  • Spring Green, Wisconsin
  • Frisco, Texas
  • Steamboat Springs, Colorado
  • Bisbee, Arizona
  • Townsend, Tennessee
  • Klamath Falls, Oregon
  • Hoboken, New Jersey
  • Jenner, California

“Jacksonville, Florida, is the largest city in the entire continental US. However, it does not receive the same recognition as other places like New York and San Diego,” the experts say when publishing the Top 50.

Travel Lemming placed Yucatan, Mexico at the top of its list of city recommendations to visit. They are followed by Gizo, Solomon Islands, in the South Pacific, and Stavanger, in Norway.

“This year, our list is packed with destinations perfect for longer trips and for adopting a slower, more sustainable pace of travel,” the report said.

In Jacksonville, located 350 miles north of Miami, you can enjoy its pristine beaches, its parks such as Little Talbot, the Riverside Arts Market, where very talented artisans gather, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, among many other places.
