FIFA Council gains access to failed commercial partnership project

PARIS.- The FIFA authorized the members of his Advice to consult the “key documents” related to the failed commercial company project open to private investors (FFE), which caused a serious crisis in the institution, a source close to the case said on Tuesday.

“FIFA has informed its Council members, including all vice-presidents, that they will have access to key documents relating to the project.” FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE)”, this source told AFP.

The members of the Council, who were informed on Monday in a letter sent by the FIFA Secretary General, Mattias Grafstrommust “express their interest in the next two weeks” to consult the documents, “in person and under specific conditions”, at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich (Swiss), according to the same source.

The initiative of the International Federation arrives when European Confederation (UEFA), on the front line in his opposition to the FFE project, has resorted to the justice of Florida to force the American subsidiaries of the organization to deliver a series of documents related to this case.

UEFA made this request with a view to a possible complaint before the Swiss justice system for “unfair management.”

Since the end of World and the publication of the FFE project, UEFA maintains a fight with the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantinocandidate for his own succession in March 2027.

UEFA has sent FIFA a series of questions on governance and has given it two weeks to respond, a deadline considered “unrealizable” by the International Federation.

After having been under strong pressure for some time, Infantino once again has free rein for his re-election.

With the deadline for the presentation of candidatures very close (November 18), UEFA has not yet found a person who can oppose the Italian-Swiss leader, in office since 2016 and who aspires to a fourth term.

Unexpected backup

Infantino even received significant support on October 23, since the Asian Confederation (AFC) ended up aligning with him.

This is an important change, since the AFC was part, along with UEFA and the Confederation of North America and the Caribbean (Concacaf), one of the staunchest opponents of Infantino after the revelation of the FFE project.

Former Swiss international, Ramon Vega Yes, he has announced his intention to run, but nothing indicates at the moment that he has obtained the five endorsements necessary to do so.
