At the least expected moment EnglandPhil Foden “temporarily” abandoned the concentration in the Euro 2024 and returned to United Kingdom due to “an urgent family matter” the Football Association confirmed on Wednesday.
English football’s governing body did not give details of the reasons for Foden’s departure.
The Manchester City striker played in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw against Slovenia.
England are not going through a good moment at the Euros. They arrived as the main candidates to win the competition and only managed to score one goal in two games, of which they won one by the minimum and the other they drew.
Foden leaving the team comes at a terrible time, because with the lack of level of the English players, the City attacker, although he does not dazzle like in the Premier League, is still considered one of the figures of the team.
